Why is it important to have travel insurance?

Travel insurance is an inexpensive option to give you the peace of mind you need while traveling for business or pleasure.

When it comes to travel, early planning and purchasing has its rewards. However, since no one can predict the future, purchasing travel insurance brings peace of mind.

Why purchase travel insurance?

Insurance is simply that -- insurance. It’s a backup plan in case things don’t go, well, as planned. This could mean health issues, business meetings that come up, or even an illness or injury overseas.

In Travel Guard’s article outlining ten reasons to purchase travel insurance they offer common examples:

"If your sister-in-law becomes seriously ill and you must cancel your trip, what happens to your non-refundable deposits or pre-payments? You're walking down a street in Rio and twist your ankle. Who is able to assist you in finding an English-speaking physician? It's 10 p.m. and you and your immediate family arrive at the airport for a connecting flight, only to find that your flight has been cancelled. Who can assist you with finding new flights to get everyone home?" Travel Guard

How much does travel insurance cost

When it comes to travel insurance there are several levels including cancellation, medical, and baggage. Pricing for each level is determined by the passenger’s age, length of travel, the destination, and the cost of the trip.

We know hypotheticals are confusing, so let me give you an example. For my trip to Puerto Vallarta from John Wayne Airport, for a 45 year old female, a plane ticket that is $215, and 3 days, the cost of my insurance was $40. That’s an easy yes.

How does it work?

At Trip Designs, we will ask you if you would like an insurance quote right when you’re booking your trip. You’ll have the exact levels and details to decide if and what type of insurance you’d like to buy. It’s that easy.

When it comes to travel, purchasing insurance takes away quite a bit of stress.
